Japan's agriculture sector faces increasing labour shortages, an ageing farming workforce, and growing demand for more precise, sustainable crop management. To help address these challenges, RYNAN Technologies partnered with Sojitz Corporation to introduce AI-powered insect monitoring across Japanese farms.

Today, 52 InSentinel systems have been deployed across Japan, forming one of RYNAN's largest international monitoring networks. The systems continuously identify and classify insect populations using AI, reducing the need for manual field scouting while providing growers with timely insights into pest activity and ecosystem dynamics.

By delivering real-time monitoring and historical insect trends, the network enables earlier intervention, more targeted crop protection strategies, and better-informed decisions that can help reduce unnecessary pesticide applications while maintaining crop quality.

The collaboration demonstrates how AI and automated monitoring can support Japan's transition towards more efficient, sustainable, and data-driven agriculture.
