Deployment of Smart Insect Monitoring Systems across Vietnam with MARD

RYNAN Smart Agriculture’s IMS helps farmers to optimize crop management, reduce pesticide misuse, and improve productivity and profitability. Through this partnership, RYNAN Technologies aims to support farmers, farming cooperatives, enterprises, and other stakeholders in promoting smarter agricultural management in Vietnam.

The Smart Insect Monitoring System (IMS) is a Make-in-Vietnam innovation by RYNAN® Technologies, designed to drive digital transformation in agriculture through precise insect monitoring. Awarded the Silver Prize for Excellent Digital Product at the Make-in-Vietnam Awards 2021, IMS integrates AI, IoT, edge computing, and solar energy to deliver real-time pest and beneficial insect monitoring for farms of all sizes.

Using UV lights and pheromones to attract insects near the crops, AI identifies the type of insects trapped in the IMS to provide accurate measurements of the number of insect pests and predators. For Vietnam, a country with a rich agricultural history and production, protecting crops from insect pests is critical.

In collaboration with the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and various agricultural departments in different provinces and cities, more than 125 RYNAN Smart IMS were implemented to support small farmers in the region.
